'US, ' : ''); February 26, 2008 - Most PS3 gamers have been looking forward to the DualShock 3, the redesigned Sixaxis controller that sports motion sensitivity as well as rumble. However, while the peripheral was released in Japan, North American players have been waiting for word on when they'll be able to go to stores and pick up a controller for themselves. That day has come. Announced at Destination PlayStation today, the DualShock 3 will be released in North America on April 2008 for $54.99.
Nice, the yare finally getting the dualshock controller out finally.

55 dollars now aint that abit too expensive for a controller

With a wireless, rechargeable, motion-sensor equipped, now Rumble function added, I don't see that its too pricey. And it will drop eventually.

I've never actually bought any third-party controllers, but I hear some are very good, so the price will go down to match. But my experience with the PS2 controller ain't too good. They keep breaking down, and even the special edition ones keep dying on me. Though I have a special FFXII-edition controller that I still keep and use only when playing Final Fantasy games.

but the thing is Sony never changes the price of controllers
seriously though 5 years of PS2 the controller in UK remained 20quid

Hmm, maybe its a regional thing. In Asia here (in my country at least) it depends on the shop selling the controller, so I don't really know how much they got the controller for.

And, in Asia, piracy is rampant, so its hard to tell an original controller from an imitation. I've got 5 fake ones and 3 original (including the FFXII-version). The fake ones are for gaming parties and the other is for my personal use.
