i still rather listen to the original
but euww just look at them... they all look disgusting
i aint fond of them but then everyone entitled to their own opinion and tastes in music
i do not like the atmosphere of their singing
it just too boring and dull for me....
all their songs sound the same dull voice...

the rest of their stuff is too screamo for my taste and the whole gun thing they have going in their pictures is really lame, but if they were to work on making themselves not so posery they'd be good. i like the mad world cover a lot and the girl has a nice voice. she just needs to use it the right way.

this is a big issue for me....music first....not appearances.....i think labels and promoters forget that shit and now bands feel that it is as important as their sound...who cares what you look like...i am listening to you, not looking at you

well to a certain extent it is part of the appeal. marketing oneself is vitally important if a band plans on making it anywhere. if bands didn't try to market themselves at all no one would ever make it to labels or even outside of their bedroom. they'd make music and sit there listening to it then not let anyone else hear it.
all bands have to 'sell out' at least a slight bit in order to actually 'sell' their music. any band who swears up and down that they have never sold out is either lying or composed entirely of morons.
on top of that, i find myself giving myspace bands more of a chance if their layout looks more professional. any band that has a picture of hitler or a picture of the members taken in their basement with a digital camera i generally pass by because let's face it if they can't make a professional myspace picture, why would they make professionally recorded music? bands that use l33t in their bio usually record most of their songs with computer mics and aren't worth listening to. whereas bands who have nice layouts, photos that actually look like they were taken by a photographer and minuscule amounts of grammatical errors generally have professionally recorded songs and are worth giving a listen.
i agree that music should come first though. once you check out their page and decide you'll stay for a second and listen they'd better have something worth listening to. i am very picky about the music i listen to and i never accept friend offers from emo/indie bands simply because i dislike them; but if i think the band has something good i try to lend my support.
mute grey really isn't bad. i understand the image focus, i just don't like the way they represent themselves. i also don't like the screamer they have as the girl singer has quite a lovely voice. i understand progressive is pretty big in the underground (especially among people that like complex instrumentals), but i still don't like it. it doesn't have very much emotion. i bought their cd simply because i enjoy helping out unsigned artists in the industrial genre (that and the fact that it was $7 with shipping. i figured that's really a pretty damn good price). hopefully i'll find a few tracks i like. they're really not a bad band, they just need to calm down on the appeal a slight bit and work on making their music more melodic and... musical. i feel as though if they were to put out a second album it might be awesome. who knows though, i could be wrong. nonetheless i felt the need to support and hope that they come out with something amazing.

yeah when you think of it when bands such as unknown indie groups
they all just look the same
but im no indie fan
i dont mind it
it's just that those type of music dont interest me or i will never put it on my playlist
depending on the emo type
if they sound some sort of fallout boy i wouldnt mind
yeah like stevil said it is cruical that the image of each individual within a group should be setting an image of what kind of music they sing
the image they setting right now
is like as if they are some hardcore metal band with lots of screaming and hard fast guitar and bass
i quite detest Metal....

well they kind of are. i just think they should calm it down a bit. bands should never have to try to be hardcore. it should either come naturally or they should do whatever comes naturally and settle for the fans that respect that.
fallout boy is more pop than emo. i don't like them nonetheless.

i like Fallout Boy :P
but their new songs are emo like i know what you mean by ... Fallout Boy sound pop now
it just music that i miss is old linkin park style
metal music with the rap....
what i hate most is just mostly black man music....
it always the same
yeah i do drugs... shoot em up.... fucked loads of girls.....
for all we know these guys wont probably come near to a frekkin' gun....
and i do agree with a convo i had with Tomo'
it annoying when black people will always have to say somehting in their songs such as "Yea! N***a!!!"
but then not all black music is like
that
but anyways coming back to screamo's
oh god i can stand those
seriously i cant find music good without good lyrics and some sort of good positive atmosphere when they sing.... to how i feel it Mute Grey's got some sort of underworld vocals like... a low down vocalist (well not deep voice) but it got this falling into the abyss kinda gloomy voice
and screaming is not something you can put in with lyrics to a song... IMO!!
unless they are able to provide good vocals, lyrics and maybe a little scream i wouldnt mind... like Linkin Park had

mute grey should try to be less like linkin park. i think that's one of their issues.
they should do something with just the girl singing, the pianoist, the drummer, and the guitarist and bassist should do something softer and more atmospheric in the background rather than the progressive 'in your face' bullshit they currently have on. you can't be gloomy and atmospheric and progressive/screamo. pick one or the other.
also, not all 'black guy' music is rap. they cover a lot of different genres from reggae, ska, punk, rock, jazz, blues, rap, hip hop, r&b, and i was good friends with a black guy who sang in an emo band. he actually sang for one of the bands i was in for a brief while. his singing was so/so but he was a damn cool guy.
i'm not big on any radio music and to say that all black guy music is the hip hop trash that's being played now is the same as saying that all while guys are emo kids that write crappy pop songs with acoustic guitars and all white women are whores that write bubble gum pop.
last of all, wu-tang forever. fuck any crackers who don't like wu-tang.

i know all black people music isnt just rnb rap
but im saying the general like the RnB and Rap
it just annoying how they always gotta mention the N* Word in their song...
it quite rare to find a black dude to take a liking into music such as emo, rock ...etc
to be honest the music in the UK and US industry they all try to base each other on someone similar like say
maybe groups may based themselve son fallout boy style
it what i hate when the music sound all alike
or every new song just had the same feeling to it
it kinda why i lost interest in groups such as MUSE
