it’s Diablo 3… Im willing to bet my marbles. Unless blizzard employees got bored and decided to screw everyone with clues leading to the big announcement they promised on the last day of the WWI2008 as DIABLO 3. And when i say EVERYTHING pointing to Diablo 3 then i mean everything.And a lot if not all of those pointed out in this article of sc2pod (http://www.sc2pod.com/news/Splash_Screen_Updated/).
Summary :


The last day of the World Wide Invitational 2008 as taking place on Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction’s Birthday (The day these games got released)
The runes in the splash screen matching the Shae and Hel runes. These splash screen appears in all major Blizzard websites.
Blizzard not saying that it’s not Diablo 3 (they have this habit of denying rumors on the spot even before it gets this hyped)
Secret images in the http://us.media.blizzard.com/232309/_images/ folder popping up, each number corresponding to a letter in Diablo (as of this posting 4 for D and 15 for O has been released) and appears like parts of a rectangular jigzaw puzzle of some sort.
The number of days remaining till the last day of WWI matches the number of remaining letter-codes to be revealed which will exactly form the word Diablo 3
The name of the folder where the secret images are stored is the secret ihttp://us.media.blizzard.com/232309/_images/15.jpg : 232309 = 23/23/09 = WWI.
The last time Blizzard made a splash screen teaser was when Starcraft 2 got announced in Blizzcon 2007. So a splash screen with no title on it definitely IS an unannounced game. They wouldn’t do this for WoTLK since it got announced already.

i remember my days playing diablo 2 i couldnt let go...

well there Diablo 1
that was pretty good
i completed that on single player it was hard
Diablo 2 was too hard on single
i gave up when i got to diablo and played it online
dude it was amazing online
then it got sad when i sat in the trading channel spamming and finding epic trades
it funny when noobs dont know item values or pro's want to get rid of extra stuff they dont want...
and you had to hassle your customer or seller for a trade

imagine diablo 3
im keen on the story plot

but then it was said they were all slain
but then Diablo possesses the hero that defeats Diablo
which wasnt in this case for Diablo 2??

i can expect the Secret Cow level be there and another place to expect....

Diablo 3 is so cool, i can hardly wait. It looks so cool on the gameplay videos, plus they got a new class, the "witch doctor"!.

The witch doctor has skills mixed with the druid and necromancer, so im guessing they might change the roster of classes in the game.

the amazon was the only one with 2 types of classes
Bow and Javelin
or the Asssasin too
fighter and Trap user

crap yeah also Ice/Lightning/Fire Sorc

but i think thye may have to put a MAGE
the mage will have something like time effect spells?
that can be imba
imagine pvp fights in teams
maybe that might be imbalanced
but heck patches may fix it

what i hope to see more is something like
better way to get better items
i hated the MAGIC FIND % shit
i had stuff over 400% and i seen my friend with MF over 800% and it was still hard to find shit

Hmm i am a blizzard fan but not a diablo.i was one of the limited people that watched live all the updates and the questions from fans online and live.I am not so exited with diablo 3 since the plot is the same as 2 and 1.They may brought the grafics closer to Lineage2 and World of Warcraft but still they need a lot of work to reach WoW level of grafics.
Futher more when starcraft came out everyone was "omfg!" but when i saw those people playing starcraft live at the tournament -(First time that i saw starcraft)- i was all like "Starcraft sucks ftw" :)
Diablo3-Failed Plot /Failed Grafics (but yeah ok they had improvement) / and i am sure it will fail to gather up people. :D :D :D :D :D :D

it all about gameplay
sure grpahics does mean alot but as long as it okay then it fine the gameplay compensates

just nubs expect too much from graphics due to increasing technology
alot of games may have this certain imba graphics but the gme and gameplay itself do not compensate....

games shouldnt really be about OMG THE GRAPHICS!!

D3 is most likely pay for expansion packs + extra optional features that optimize gameplay

Haha. You obviously haven't played that much, recently. On USEast Non-Ladder, people have gotten....bored, to say the least, with cookie cutter characters. There are more WhirlWind Assassins than ever, and you can even find things like Bowa-Sorc's, Plague Zons, and Warcry Barbs (I have one =D). Hell, I even have a Bowa-Assassin.

But I would personally probably NOT pay to play d3. And I honestly don't think that they'll charge for it, if its instance-games still (whereas WoW is a continual world).

i had a old version barb before the warcry barb was invented it was made like a half combar warcry barb
just without the cry specialized equipment

Ohhh Grandfathers. Besides Cruel weapons, they used to be so amazing. Now barbs use Grief Runeword and Beast Runeword for whirlwind =P. And no, mine has an attack. Literally the attack "Warcry." Not really that much damage, but it gives a nice little stun. If you have a teammate with Meditation, you're pretty much unstoppable. 8000+ Life with an infinite amount of stun.

I still <3 my sins though. I have a Whirlwind Assassin, Trap Assassin, and Bow Assassin; soon going to be making a Kick Assassin =D

Breath of the Dying? That's still used. Just people have found an extraordinary use in the Grief Runeword due to damage added.
