Here's a short blog for today, maybe another later.
So, about grits. Obviously a regional food. I was told before it was a somewhat equivalent to hominy, I don't know as I've never had hominy.
So, the traditional Southern breakfast consists of grits, eggs, bacon, and toast. I usually have cheese grits and cheese egg, as cheese has ALWAYS played a large role in my daily life. Sometimes if you go to a diner, and DON'T order cereal (TAA reference) the grits you get are usualy natural. For some reason I've always been partial to the instant grits. I also cannot stand when someone makes them soupy...(puke) They aren't meant to mock soup.....
So what would be your regional breakfast food?
