I've deleted all my downloaded brushes and am now doing everything completely from my own brushes. My question to you is... WHAT THE HELL DO I MAKE BRUSHES OUT OF!?!? Seriously guys, I know absolutely nothing about using 3d programs, and tutorials get me even more confused. So someone tell me (aside from 3d progs) what you make your brushes out of. Or else give me a tutorial that actually works for a 3d prog. None of the tuts I go on ever work. I have blender 3d, but I can download a different prog if you find me a free version.
Thanks all.

Use the 3D program and copy the picture, paste it into photoshop and go to edit>define brush set and put it somewhere. I suggest you make another brush preset thing. To do this, copy and paste (in windows explorer) a brush preset, rename it something and close photoshop. Open it back up and your brush preset should be there.

My 3d program bites though. I know how to make pictures into brushes, I just don't know how to make the pictures in the first place. My 3d program is retardedly hard to figure out, and tuts never seem to work for me.

You can make brushes out of anything you can put/make in photoshop. And about the 3D brushes there's no difference on how you make them really. Just do this:
Heres away you can do it.
- Go to the layout of the object you want to make a brush out of.
- Then go to toolbox>magic select stick (or whatever the hell its called).
- Right click on the object on the canvas>load selection and it should select anything that the layout has in it.
- Then you save the brush like you would usually do it.

I really don't wanna rip brushes off of other things though. Unless I made it, I won't use it. I just needed to figure out what to make them out of. Don't any of you make brushes directly in photoshop?

u dont copy and paste renders into photoshop -_-'....u save them as photoshop files or any other image file that supports alpha so u can erase the black bg after u render it then do the rest of what he said
