User recommendations have been available for submission by members for about two or four months now. The hope was that if I let it sit for a while then people would add more sooner, but that has not seemed to be the case. That aside, you are now able to view user recommendations by going to a series like Umisho (Manga) (http://www.otakuworks.com/series/118/umisho) and looking at the section (yes you guessed it) 'user recommendations'. This feature is released as a beta because I have yet to add a system to allow people to rate the usefulness of a comment or submission (like a recommendation) or to make it all pretty. You'll survive. A feature also to view your approved and pending submissions is forthcoming but it may sit on the back burner for a while as I'm trying to get more features out sooner. Do submit some recommendations if you feel inclined, we need to start filling that up (go to the series you like and start the process)
Speaking of which, members will now notice that in their MyCP the section "Your friendly recent activity reminder..." will now include notices when you have commented, rated, or bookmarked the series. Hopefully this will make it easier for you guys to figure out the relevance of suggested series and get more of them in your tracker.
Another change was made to 'auto bookmarking' (again this is only for members who have enabled it in their account options) which will now create a bookmark if you start reading the first release (ie chp 1, vol 1, etc) of a series. This will make the 'auto' part (which only took effect once you clicked bookmark on a series) more friendly.
I've rambled enough, be sure to read the preceding news entry for significant updates made yesterday. Cheers
