I know what you mean, Legend....just watching it got me hooked. The first episode I ever saw was "Duel with the Ghoul". Slowly but surely I became hooked.

I thought it was interesting that for LP scores they used the Japanese versions. It was also nice to finally see the english cards with text on them, added more realism that way.

i agree with you
the english anime would be 100 times better if they had the name on the cards

Yeah, but I bet they'd take a lot longer to do too. Plus, since most of the cards are different in the t.v show, they'd have to change the whole line of text written on the card. And kids these days just wanna see the duels.

Do you know why they do that? On a lot of cards like Spellbinding Circle there is no reason. The picture is even different.

I like the whole Egyptian theme and dead Pharaoh coming back to life thing. Cool stuff. If it didn't have those themes, it'd be just Dual Masters, boring!

Oh yeah, Duel Masters. No way did it rip 10000 things off of other card games and shows. But Yu-Gi-Oh does have a good theme.

I liked the characters, storyline and the psychological conflicts the central characters went through... I'll admit at first I didn't pay much attention to YuGiOh! but I started watching it out of boredom quite a few years ago during the dub's first season, and I just started to like it.

Yeah, it's like a drug. At first you think it's bad for you, but after 300 doses it become very good and adictive.

Well, the first time I saw Yugioh was like a long time ago when Yugi first dueled Yami Bakura, and they were on the field as real monsters. Everybody was their favorite card or something like that, it was messed up but I thought it was cool. I started watching it every day after that and became a hooked sucker. lol About 2 weeks later I found out about the TCG and started playing. I wish I could start over again and actually knew what I was doing, because I didn't even find out about all the sanctioned tournaments until about a year and a half after I started playing. -_-
I like Yugioh because of the plot, Ancient Egypt stuff like that intrigues me. Plus, Exodia was awesome on the first ep and you know it. :)

Yeah, I've only been in like 1 tournament, that, and I visited the World Championship last summer. I live in CT, and it was held in Anaheim California, so I devised a sneaky plan to go, but it's too long for this topic. I'll start a topic called "Duelists and their Stories" or something awkward like that. Right now I teach a ton of kids in my area where I moved recently to, how to play Yu-Gi-Oh. In 2 months they now have my skill that took me 2 years to get. Then again, nobody helped me out!

Yea, thats what I had to do. I started out playing with 3 of my friends, but I was the one that was more into it than any of them. I studied the game top to bottom but didn't find out about tournaments, I guess its because I didn't have a computer back then and didn't know jack crap about Forums. But yea, you can guess I was the best and wasn't beaten until I went to a card shop that is about 30 minutes from my house and got my butt handed to me. I found out what a strong duelist is like when I went there for the first time. So it was a great experience and I later became the best player in the store.
EDIT: Yay! I finally got Newbie away from under my name...<_<

Ancient Egypt was a huge part of it, the duels don't matter to me as much as the storyline.

Quite simply, the Pharaoh. I saw him and was like, "Man he's fine." I've kinda been into since.
