Anyone on this site play the piano besides me? :sly:
If so, tell me how long you have been playing for? What was the last thing you played, etc.. I'm very curious.

It will take approx 2 years for you to be playing really hard music, and thats if you go at it slowly. If you put even more effort, you could probably be a really good pianist in less than that time. Myself, its been 9 years.

Ok, first off, i was thinking that i was going to do it for a hobby, since im sure its not going to get me a job. I really like to listen to piano i guess.

Yay! Everina, only do the piano if it makes you happy, thats the key. Slade, there are four ways of getting jobs or gigs in music. One (the one that i am doing now) is going to college and getting your music/education degree and becoming a piano teacher (this is what i will become), become good and start a group with some friends and preform gigs at clubs (not much money there) three waste your life and start a reject piano school in your basement where you train 5 year olds to play (A LOT OF MONEY, but a waste of talent, time, energy, and your life....) or four (too many things to list).
As for the guitar, the stratocaster is an electric instrument correct? How long you been playing for? Everina, what do you 'play' when you have time?
A real piano will cost you around 16k, but almost no one really buys real piano's due to the amount of space and money it requires. An upright can cost you anywhere from 250 (but its really bad) thru (5000). What many people get are keyboards, a full scale keybaord thats actually good will cost you anwhere from (700-3000 "Yamaha"), and a cheap keyboard brand such as casio or whatever will cost you around 100-200.
Hint: Get the 200 one  Unless your rich, in which case 16k is nothing
im gonna start soon but i play cello,bass,eletric/accoustic now cello i play clasical on the cello but the rest i play alot of jazz and alt rock

When I had to study how to play the piano my teacher was tough on me when I had to study it. But I enjoyed playing the piano, it took me a while on how to play but, it was worth it.
