Swearing in Music

Is it okay for little children, like 12 and under, to listen to music with bad language, like unedited Eminem, Green Day, etc.

I think it is if they're mature enough to realize it's only music and shouldn't be repeated.

yea i think its okay for them to listen to those kind of music because there gona learn it anyway when there older especially where im at. B)

WHEREVER you're at, they'll learn it. You can't protect kids forever...

kids 12 and older should be able to handle the language. a 9 year old started swearing cuz of his older brother in my class. The kid was caught cussing about his teacher :mellow:

9 years old :lol: i started cussing since i was 10 when i get mad but i dont cuss at teachers because thatll ruin my rep in school. :D

i knew cusses since i was about 7. i never used them until i got into middle skool and a guy punched me. I shoved a pencil up his nose and kick him silly. XD

Anyway, the music that comes to mind when I think of swearing is that rap crap (i.e. Eminem) who's lyrics always contain violent things. I say worry about the other content (discussing rape, beating up his wife). In the scheme of things, language isn't a big deal compared to that stuff.


It amazes me how many people like this kind of music, if you can call it music.

I don't care, I really don't listen to that music. I try to avoid cussing when I can, which is most of the time.

Exactly. I'm just talking about saying things like the "f" word... talking about that kind of stuff, no one should listen to.
