I think you hafe to do something in your "User CP".Enable them or something.

Quick Links -> Edit Options -> Thread Display Options

Ok go here, http://www.duelistforums.com/profile.php?do=editoptions

Then scroll down to where it says "Show Avatars" and make a check mark next to it.
