Let's see.. Mario and his accent, little fireballs, watertank, and other things vs. Sonic with his speed? Sonic would litteraly run over Mario's ass.

Sonic is a more developed character who runs at a super sonic speed and can fight off legions of robots created by the evil Dr. Ivo Robotnik. (I refuse to call him Eggman.)

Mario lacks any real character beyond being a short and fat plumber and he jumps on turtles for a living as he embarks on his latest quest to save the princess from King Koopa, or Bowser... or whatever they're calling him now.

Sonic most definitely would prevail.

sonic of course! mario couldnt even lay a finger on sonic at his speed, besides, sonic is used to fighting evil robots, going on adventures and defeating Dr, Robotnik a.k.a Egghead^^ while mario just goes around jumping his little butt away and rescuing his love, his weapons are not even good, little fireballs would be like throwing a tissue at sonic(if it even gets him) so the score now would be: Sonic:5 Mario:a big fat 0

Definatley Sonic. But Mario is the bomb. I have all the Sonic games on GameCube.
