Daily Backups

We are now taking Daily Backups of this forum so that we can restore the whole forum with all skins, mods, posts, etc and get the site backup in 24 hours. We will be testing these backups each week on a test account located on an offsite server. So, if we ever do go down, we have backups and will return.

Awesome... and do you have a back up of the backup? I use to have my things saved 3 times. 1 online, 1 in my pc and 1 in a disc (I don't think it would fit in a disc...).

Yeah that's awesome.
I don't think that the server we're on now (or vB) will let us down though, but it can't hurt to take precautions.
I can't even remember how many times the forums went down when we had IPB.
We lost like half-a-day's worth of posts...

That is true, but that does not have much to do with IPB or vB. Albeit, vB is actually harder to transfer from one server to the next because of how the MySQL database is organized so well. IPB tends to get errors when you transfer it, but it still tends to function. Yes, I will be taking backups of the backups =)

What time of the day will you take them?

I usually notice that (because I live in New York) that when I wake up in the morning there are a lot of new posts so maybe you should do it in the morning.

The time of the day will be at random. But, as per your suggestion, I will try to get it in the morning.
