--- Much Faster and More Reliable Server! ---
Are you sick and tired of all those vB errors that we used to get? Well the forums are now moved to a much faster server (we are still using vB). This server is not only faster but more reliable so, enjoy!

--- Regarding our website ---
With the process of growth in mind I realized that I must add some more anime to yugioh-insanity.com once the site opens. But then I also realized the name 'yugioh-insanity' is not very suitable for the type of site we are going to have (include multiple anime information and coverage). I was originally going to help our great PHP programmer, Hellspire, with his new project (website) called 'OtakuWorks'. So we have decided to put a stop to yugioh-insanity.com (the main site itself. These forums will remain active (duelistforums.com) and seperate from the new forums that we will have. Basically, you are not losing anything that you are having. To people that are working on content: We can use all of the new content on our new anime and gaming site: 'OtakuWorks'. I will be accepting staff for OtakuWorks. So here is what I want to do:

- End Yugioh Insanity
- Make a new website with more features and a better name: 'OtakuWorks'
- Keep DuelistForums up and running
- Make a new forum that has a ton of anime and gaming!

As a result, the domain 'yugioh-insanity.com' would be sold to one of our sponsors. The money earned will all be invested into the site and NOT used for my own sake of profit. This site was never for profit. I went over this with a few people that were on AIM at the time.

What do y'all think?

Just one thing to note:

If you would like to apply for staff for the new website you must wait until we have the staff system ready (I am planning on getting some PHP-based system that allows us to easily approve staff and an online form that allows people to join).

So will (or do) I. I was actually thinking something like this for the past few days, so it seems like a great idea to me.

Glad to hear there is good feedback so far. I just sent out a mailer to all members so that we can try and encourage more participation in the forums themselves.

Ok....From my point of view: Yu-gi-oh insanity should not be created again.I like the idea of OtakuWorld but i'd like to add Do NOT create another forum for general anime but transform this forum into a more general anime forum

It's a shame to split members into two parts...

There are already 2 forums that we have and this is the more active of the two. We have plans for a possible merger of both forums if the members agree. We will see how things go.

No, it doesn't. YGO-I doesn't really exist anymore, just these forums. GsV and HellSpire are making a new site, which will have a forum.

May 25th, 2005, 08:34 AM
how much ?

Atem
May 25th, 2005, 04:15 PM
Riftwarp Forums is a general forum that has no specific topic. DF is a forum that has an anime topic heavily centered on Yu-gi-oh!. Please refrain from calling RF an anime forum in the future.

Furthermore, a merger is possible but is NOT scheduled as of yet. It however, IS possible for the two to merge with general ease. We shall see. As for my contributions to this project, many of you will not know what it is because all of my work is backend. It's okay though, GSV can be the poster boy, I don't need acknowledgment ;)

Are you guys gonna do that thing you toold me once on AIM?

It's O.K, but don't add too many different Animes, and this site is doing great with Yu-Gi-Oh and some naruto stuff, I have seen many a website go down the pan because they tried to deal with too many animes and basically can't multitask enough. I'm just sayin' don't try to fix what's not already broken. Stick to like 3 to 5 animes to start with. And if that goes well then expand some more.

|:.NecroAngel.:|
May 26th, 2005, 02:06 PM

Indeed, but within respectable limits though. While I don't believe it would be a problem for overload on the system I am making due to the general ease of submission, review, and activation of articles (which will be explained later), I do believe that we will only start off with around 5 animes with as much GOOD coverage as possible.

It is planned that the site will have some 30 main staff members who will be in charge of not only submitting their own content but reviewing submissions sent in (via the engine), revising, and finally either approving or rejecting placing them in the proper sections and the like. So this clearly cuts out the problem of the administration requirement.

The reason that we will only start with a small amount is because the submission and staff administration engines will NOT be completed by release. They will be implemented during the first few weeks or so, and until then EVERYTHING has to be done manually by the administration. Therefore, we are limited in that respect, and not by a matter of overload, but due to planned ease during transition from cms versions as they are developed by myself.

Later.

That sounds good to me.

Sounds good to me too.
But still. I can take charge of making some video game stuff. Like reviews for PSX, GBA, and N64. Those are the only ones I have the emulator and games ^_^;;

(And obviously some yugioh and naruto stuff too in my sparetime)
