There was a thread discussing the topic of which is better. This is on subject which do you use / prefer (poll) with a reason.

If you choose other, name the OS and why you use it.

Also, many people use Windows and Linux (like me) due to software compatablity, so vote for the one you use more often or prefer more. Give reason for both.

Windows. I haven't had any problems with them. Except with one of them, but that was my fault.

Not true. Linux can be just as compatable with software and hardware just as windows, all it requires is some tweaking. Of course this is the problem with Linux and UNIX as the modern computer user want to do these things: Surf the web, check email, chat with people, and want it easy. Many people say Linux isn't ready for the desktop because of things like this, that It's so difficult to work with when really its not.

But most people prefer they don't have to tweak, that it comes ready =)

That is true you can tweak most files. But not all people Are good with computers and files that is why windows is most used. (And it comes with most computers.)

Windows XP Professional. I'm trying to get drivers so I can dualboot x64, but my floppy drive won't cooperate...gay piece of shit. I'd use Linux, except I don't know how, and all my favorite utilities are windows-only.

Thats what seperates the average user from the rest. Plus with my knowledge of using Linux it could help me in the long run such if my future job requires it.
