Beethoven was born on December 17,1770. His Birth Place was Bonn, Germany.

Death

Beethoven died on March 26, 1827. He died of cirrhosis of the liver, plus dropsy. In cirrhosis of the liver
scar tissue replaces normal healthy tissue blocking the flow of blood through the organ and preventing it
from working as it should. Cirrhosis is the twelfth leading cause of death by disease, killing about 26,000
people each year. Also, the cost of cirrhosis in terms of human suffering, hospital costs, and lost productivity is high.
Dropsy is Epidemic dropsy means swelling of the body caused by the consumption of mustard oil adulterated with oil of
prickly poppy. Prickly poppy scientifically known as Argemone mexicana contains alkaloids with physiologically active
toxins (sanguinarine and dihydrosanguinarine). The prickly poppy grows as a wild weed that produces a yellow flower.
Seeds produced from it are blackish brown having wrinkled surface whereas mustard seeds are having smooth round
surface. Mustard seeds are harvested earlier than that of argemone and hence there is little chance of accidental
mixing of argemone seeds with mustard seeds (Mustard crop - February to March, Argemone crop - April to May). However
in the last reported cases mustard oil, contaminated by Argemone was the source of the problem.
