My Opinions on Halo and HL2

Is halo all that good that people make it out to be? In my opinion: No. I used to go along that its so cool and OMG ITS AWESOME and that stuff but now, I really just hate it. It is pretty much like every other first person view game. Really. Nothing really knew. Aliens, swords, guns, humans, fight for earth etc. Something a lot of video games have. For me, the gameplay is very boring. Gets boring quick. Sure, the graphics are good and everything but thats how most video games are these days to make a lot of $. Its on the front page of my local newspaper yet, its like every other game. People make this game a lot more than what it should be.

Half Life 2 is different. By a long shot. Gameplay and controls are much easier and fun. Sure, it also has aliens in it and guns and humans, but its normal people fighting those battles along with the army. Not half cyborg-half human stuff. Plus, the ending is much better than Halo 2. Bungie should've put more thought and stuff into their video game. The only thing Valve has to work on a lot, like Bungie, is Steam. One of the worst programs ever. Seriously. It goes down about every week for 'Maintenance'.

steam hasnt been down in awhile.. the last time i remember it was down for mantinence was when hl2 came out, but that was because too many people were complaining that they couldnt play the game on steam because of the cd key not being vailidated.

halo2 is suppose to have contine story, but you are going to have to download it off of live or something... im not sure about it though.

Ya, multiplayer is okay for me. The second ones storyline is much better yes, but i still think its just average.

I played multiplayer for Halo 2 and it was a blast. killing left and right. the same in the legendary for storyline. staying alive is the most important. As for the first one I see why most people say it is better. but for legendary on the library for example co-op was needed. but I like halo 2 because it is a sequel of the first. and the vehicles are better and such. that is my opinion.

I havn't played halo 2 yet (shame on me). I've been too broke, and I want the first copy I play to be that of my own, so I'm waiting for christmas to come around for me to play it.

Halo 1 rocked though!!! People talk about it too much, but it was an awsome game. I'm sorry, it just was.

my thoughts:
halo1- the story mode is great. mutiplayer is o-k
halo2- the story mode is a little short and the whole concept "earth will never be the same" when there is only on leval on earth kind of pisses me off. the mutiplayer is the greatest thing ive played in a long, LONG time

In my opinion Socom 2 online pwns Halo 2 multiplayer I mean... well actually I havent played halo 2 yet but if its anything like Halo its just I mean.... sorta just run and gun wheres teh stealth... I mean sure... you can get a camoflaugue thingy or whatever but thats not real stealth I mean in socom you can camoflague on the ground in a bush so its more exciting.... and its more tactical I guess I dunno yep yep just my opinion Socom 2 rocks

^you are missing out on the meaning of life if you never played halo 2 online. besides... socom2 is adnormaly unbalanced when it comes to weapons.. unbalanced like CS V1.1

oh yeah.. and people... halo 2 was really built around ONLINE play, not the single player missions.

I like to play one player a lot. mostly because everyone that I want to play xbox with is not around. and plus I don't have live.

i love halo 2 =), and yes teh story may be overused but in detail its actually quite good(read all three books), the only thing i hate is that the story of halo 2 doesn't quite fit with that of the final book(First Strike), there was supposed to be 4 more spartans(Kelly is off somewhere no one knows of). If you think of it the ending was perfect, anyone who denies that it makes you eager for Halo 3(which is already in the works) is a moron =). At this state, there are so many theories concerning Gravemind, fate of Earth, other halos, and to some people the location of the other spartans(if indeed it follows teh story and something just happened to the other 4). The gameplay is sorta the same as Halo 1, but you seriously cannot expect a whole new game, it's a sequal, and to be frank totally changing teh gameplay would suck. In my opinion, Halo 1 and 2 are the most unique of first person shooters, EVERY other fps i have played has similiar controls and gameplay(compare: counter strike, half life, timesplitters, james bond games), they literally are all the same. Halo is one of the first(if not teh first) to encorporate(into multiplayer) vehicles , REAL balance of weapons, and balance of both stealth and assault.

What i really hate however are bitches and whiners who always complain that halo 1 is better because the pistol is stronger, the vehicles dont get blown up, and the grenades are stronger. Seriously people, one of teh greatest thigns about halo 2 is the balance of gameplay it incorporates.

bah anyways, i dont like half life 2 and other such games because gameplay feels too rushed and too realistic(you die too easily, in a packed game you litterally get 10 or less seconds of shooting till someone dies[per life).

Pistols are stronger in 1? BS! LOL.

First of all. The only advantage of the Halo 1 pistol is the Zoom, which in distance makes it easier to get headshots, which is pure OWNAGE. Halo 2's pistols are pure ownage by themself, and they didn't even give them Zoom. Why? Because you can double weild, get in front of someone, and pop a cap in their ***. Correction, head. ;). What's better then 2 pistols giving head shots at the same time? NOTHING. Does that sound better then 1 pistol with zoom? No.

THe new maps, well. The old, 'edited' maps. Are horrible. Really they are, since they made them smaller, and added all that uncessesary crap.

Banshees? The truth people... They suck. It is such a pain to kill someone with them, excluding people driving vehicles. Giving the best rate to kill someone is to splatter them, which then gives them a chance to steal it. ;)

Not to mention is so fricken hard to kill someone with a warthog.

Basically all the alien weapons are crap now, Dweilding or not. (most defenitly the needler now)

.. Pretty much the maps in Halo 1 are the best. They are perfect for combat in every way. But its so much harder to kill someone in H1 compared to H2.


BTW, Got to love the new Rocket targeting system, and noobs with vehicles ;).

some of the maps in h2 are awesome. but for a lot of multiplayer action and with vehicles h1 has good maps. like bloodgultch. or that snowy map. but in h2 there are some good sniping postitions. and there are some good maps that are good for ghosts. but banshees are hard to maneuver in some of the h2 maps.

Ok I like the game Halo and Halo 2, but am i the only one that likes Halo better then Halo 2. Plus the ending on the first one is WAY better then the ending of the second one.

Halo 2 is a good game. since I finally got it the graphics are good, the marines(AI) are smarter, the dual weilding is nice, the rocket launcher is awesome now because it can lock on to targets, heroic and legendary are harder than the first, and plenty of other stuff. also the ending is suspense for sure. and Halo 3 should be a blast too....

Counter Strike Source? I have that.. But every time i try and connect to others games it keeps saying that they are using a newer protocol then mine (it says mine is 6, and theres is 7). I don't understand what it means....

btw i only have CS on comp not xbox
