First I would like to point ouit that, I included a hex colour chart since I made the background for the index gray, I'm not sure what you want so in the top head part of the index is the code that changes the background color. Look in the chart, and change to what you like.

I made a image, slice.gif which is used for if you use a news script, in the script when you edit the preferences slice.gif, should be changed to 100% so the width changes to how big the news is on the layout. I forgot alot since I havn't coded layouts for awhile so if you need any support on this you might want to ask someone else or come back to me.. its in .zip extention.
