I've never heard of it. BUt after yahoo searching it, it looks pretty good.
The thing about games in North America is that everyone really likes first person shooting games. Or racing games.

Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube was the first tales game i played excellent story and gameplay plus it is like 80hours to get everything so it isn't short. I think because of Symphonia doing so wewe are seeing more tales games coming to the us , 1 for PS2 and another for DS

I liked Tales of Phantasia, it had your typical hero-in-armor along with a pure hearted heroine. There were actually 5 playable characters, including chester later on, but after the PSX version came out, Suzu is the 6th playable character.

Many of them are stand alone.Tales of Phantasia takes place a millenia after Tales of Symphonia, And Tales of Destiny 2 (not Tales of Eternia) takes place after Tales of Destiny (Obviously)

Don't know ... I only played Tales of Symphonia and it was using some new battle system. It was free roaming fighting, like many action games, adn did not have turn based combat like most RPG. But the battle system was sweet, unleashing 80 hit combo on the boss and suckink half of his life ..... sweet :D

I heard the upcomin Tales of the Abyss is going to be a well improved game, which is supposed to have a free-run system in battles (that means you can run in a 3D Battlefield, a dream come drue!)
