I picked DS because it has more games that I tend to like. A lot of the PSP ones seem to be ports too. It also has a quite a few great import games like Jump Superstars. I import games most of the time when I find out about a good one.

i would have to say the ds as it has its own games where as psp just has shortened versions of the original games also ive never liked sony i prefer the xbox as it is way more durable as i dropped somthing on my ps2 and the whole casing is smashed and i dropped my xbox down the stairs and it was perfectly fine so i see sony as being unreliable and xbox live is great ....:) but the ds is great i love the nintendo games

The DS Games are unique, while PSP are pretty typical. (I clicked PSP without noticing, oops).

Seriously, if you go to any Con, you'll find that more people are chatting with DS and hosting games too. People with PSPs only watch movies, listen to music or play games by themselves.

i think psp in way better also, but also age is a big factor in this. Psp i think would be more centered around more mature kids/adults because of the type of games, and the features of music, and movies. While the DS is more focused around little kids with the games they have come out with..

I voted DS. Mainly becuase I'm an Animal Crossing fan and secondly because I've always liked the Nintedo products more then the Playstation products. I wonder what type of weird game system we could see if Playstation and Nintendo worked together, adding both their ideas and stuff... I think it would actualy be kind of cool, but I doubt that would happen.

The DS because it has better games which actually use a lot of the systems capabillities. The PSP, however, only has games that seem like PS2 ports.

Well I like my DS, its the best as well as that I get to have my own dog, own dog in the sense that the game nintendogs allows me to have one. So I love it especially getting anime import games for it.

Nintendo in general is like the little kindergarten kid sitting in a corner drawing Pokemon while the grade 6 Microsoft and Sony are fighting.

Games:

Nintendo GENERALLY releases games that are slightly more childish. The majority of Nintendo games are rated E or less, with a few T titles and maybe 1 or 2 M titles.. Xbox and PS2 have mainly T and M titles, with a few E titles.

Nintendo seems to be more favoured by girls and children. A parent with an 8 year old son or daughter will look at the PSP with games like GTA, Socom, etc, and at the DS with Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, etc, and go for the DS because it seems more suiting. Girls think Mario, Nintendogs, and Animal Crossing creatures are "cute" as opposed to beating old ladies with a baseball bat in GTA for the PSP. Mainly I see guys/adults playing Sony or Microsoft consoles, and MAYBE playing a Nintendo product simply for that nostalgia of "when i was a kid.. we had 2D GFX!!"

The PSP didn't really focus much on games, there is a small amount of them, at near-console-game prices, with very few of them being good. HOWEVER, in February, March, and April, we will be seeing some stellar games for the PSP (final fantasy, anyone?)

So, Nintendo is more geared towards young people and girls. PSP is more geared towards PS2 fans, and adults.

Oh, yeah, I'm pretty sure PSP has a Bleach title out.

Gaming has been covered.

Online:

Someone made a comment about how PSP users are usually seen alone with their PSPs? Maybe this will help you understand why.

While the DS has a couple titles that have online capabilities, PSP has several games that are playable online, and more that have downloadable content to add onto some already-stellar games.

Go to any wireless hotspot, go on MSN, check out who won a competition in the Olympics, browse your favourite websites, download new gaming trailers, or just sit back and listen to a podcast from your favourite gaming site. Soon, you'll be able to watch streaming videos on websites, listen to streaming audio, watch Flash animations, and much more.

Or, you can go to a wireless hotspot with the DS and play some Mario Kart online, pictochat to your friend 100 feet away from you (at which point it makes more sense to just talk to the person yourself), and.. well I think thats about all you can do.

Online is covered.

Multimedia:

One of the major selling points for the PSP, it can play videos (which includes say, the latest Bleach or Naruto episodes.. and heck, I can fit 3 full movies on my PSP EASY), play music (I have every song I ever listen to on my PSP), you can show your friends some pictures from your latest trip, or pictures from that crazy concert you went to. With the PSP's speakers (i believe DS has speakers too..) you can even share your favourite song with your friends without passing around an earbud.

DS can.. uhh, I don't think the DS can play anything like above..

My vote goes to the PSP

i have read somewhere that Bleach is on PSP as well as DS does anyone know where i can find a review for these games, thinking of importing one

I have lost alot of interest in games over the years , most just seem to be updates sequels or rip off of other big name games. The DS offers different gameplay and that sparks my interest. Plus i am a tatics and RPG man and the system has a ton of that comming out ( Final FAntasy 3, TAles of TEmpest, ASH etc) . I feel if u looking to play handheld games buy a GBA or DS looking for a multimedia sysyem to play videos, music buy a ipod video. Also games like GTA LC are going to ps2 cause they disn't sell well on psp and most of the psp games are on console.

Plus Micorsoft is comming out with a handheld that will have a harddrive in it so there is no need to but flash cards, i would perfer that than a psp

well both are great handhelds but look at it this way: the Ds has much worse graphics, but it does have the touch screen(which is way cool!!!!) while the psp has very good graphics(probably most games are ps1 look) and has other stuff but no touch screen. Both have the only thing (which is good)but with the way better graphics i vote psp!!

You could not be more wrong..

Guess what? The PSP has several RPG games, and more are coming in the next few months. I believe the PSP also has a Final Fantasy game or 2..

GTA is one of the (if not THE) top-selling games on the PSP. I haven't heard of it going to the PS2, but if it is, that would ONLY be because they are trying to satisfy the hunger for a GTA game so that they can come out with a next-gen GTA title. Most of the PSP games are on the PS2, yes, but there are several PSP-exclusive titles (which also happen to be some of the best ones.. funny..)

Microsoft has put together a small team to analyze the cost and benefit of having a handheld system of any kind. So, that means Microsoft is just looking into what they could do with a handheld, but that doesn't at all mean the we will see a handheld from them, and that doesn't at all mean that there will be a harddrive in a handheld from Microsoft.

no doubt that the psp has excellent graphics but that isn't enough to win me over its the gameplay, plus games like Devil May Cry don't use the ps2 full graphics and can still offer some amount of fun, for the time being,
couldn't find a review but egm (1up) had some info on Bleach for PSP and ds

"......and unlike the lackluster Bleach offerings found on PSP (published by Bandai), Treasure/SEGA's Bleach DS: Souten Ni Kakeru Unmei is top-quality and kick ass."

The psp version has nice graphics but gameplay gives the game replay value

<double post break>
never said the psp doesn't have rpg's there is actually one by camcon call blade something that suppose to be comming out, that has my interest, the DS does have a strong game lineup, but u shouldn't judge games because they r on a particular system that's just being a fanboy i just games that hold my interest longer

Psp game offers better graphic qualities and easier gameplay , however the DS games are exclusive to its genre and are really unique to play while psp games are pretty normal and can be found on lots of other consoles while ds has it own heroes such as Zelda Mario and now Sonic with The partnership between Nintendo and Sega

i like nintendo better and also the fact that you now can do whatever the psp can do and more like chatting with other ds users and like the psp has a web browser but the so does the ds now you can watch videos on the psp but so can the ds by just getting the hard drive and when using the web browser for the psp you have to type everything in manually which sucks

Nintendo DS
1.Made by Nintendo + (one of my favorite companies)
2. touch screen +
3. fun and original games, as well as old favorite series +
4. not quite pocket-sized -
Sony PSP
1. movies, and music + (So cool if they made a Johnny Cash album for the PSP)
2. Great looking games +
3. Memoriable titles + (YAY!!! DARKSTALKERS!!)
4. Reminds me of a nutcracker -

Hmm, I don't know what to choose, so, coin toss.... Nintendo DS is my favorite.

GTA Liberty City stories IS coming out for the PS2.

And yes, the PSP does have several RPGs like:

Astonishia Story

Blade Dancer

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

The only Final Fantasy game I ever seen for the psp, is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Plus that is just a movie, But I like the DS for the games. I find more fun games on the DS, but that is just me though.

First I thought the psp is much better than the ds. But after more than one year I think the ds has the better games (mario bro., upcoming final fantasy III, and so on). So the DS is much cooler than the PSP

the psp only good in its illegal stuff man mostly
like the part of havin a emulator and not buy the games and just dl them and u can also put emulators of old consoles like snes tho the battery of a psp dies really quickly. as meanin it will die quickly like battle becomes lamer each time u charge it...
tho there mayb the mp3 and video player but really u dont use them that much

i prefer ds im more of a nintendo hand held console fan lus u can do like no linkin game plays with friends and they dont even need the game itself.... and u can do vs....
and ds has the FF games and Mario Games too along with other games like if ur a Gundam/mecha Fan go with the SD Gundam GGENERATION or Super robots wars Taisen ?

PSP, I hate the concept of the touch screen being where it is. It sometimes get's a little confusing. I like the DS games more though but the capabilites of the PSP win it for me.

Ereos
Sep 11th, 2006, 03:21 PM
One thing bout the DS is that touch scene pen really scratches up the touch scene
which i really hate
it ruins such a great product
has u seen the DS lite the corners of the that looks so sharp for some reason lol

but then psp has a shorter battery life and its battery lifetime ends up dying quicker
so more u charge it the less efficient it will become cos the battery gets worned out slowly... but faster than a DS
