Who else here uses Linux?

Currently, I use it on my computer in my living room.. Just for testing purposes.. It's really nice, I think im going to install (fully, get rid of windows) on my computer in my room.

Anyone else here use it?

Omg i'm sorry but I HATE LINUX!! I have Red Hat linux and it is so fucking confusing. You can't really install anything and everythings different and confusing. The only thing i like about it is that the games are pretty good. It's got better and cooler games. Though i can't seem to do all the normal things that i can do on Windows. So i definetely like windows better. Well i dunno wats more new red hat linux or linux. All i know is i hate it. Linux is for computer geeks. And i'm not a computer geek.

i have it on my laptop and i love it i installed 2 hard drives so i could run windows and linux

1)once i learn how to code from my cuzin (went to MIT), im probably gonna install Linux on my computer.

Yea but it's still c-o-n-f-u-s-i-n-g. I don't understand how to install hard drives and games and like a word program or anything like htat. IT's very confusing. I just don't get it.

Don't get me wrong. I love linux! I would choose linux over windows any day. But I think im gunna reinstall windows... It so damn hard to watch porn on linux :(.

Akira. you used a rad hat dristo. red hat SUCKS BWALs. use linspire or fedora if you still want it to be all window-ish.

did you find the right linux just for you james? i use knoppix-std, damnsmalllinux, PHLAK, and i have a linspire live and professional. most are live so they kick ***.


Mac X OS is a diffrent story though.. its damn sexy..

SuSE, so far is the more window-ish. Its like a super copy of windows... Fedora gives me a "u da man" feeling..

I don't use Linux but insted UNIX. Linux was a copy of UNIX just to make it run on WIN machines (computers). I also don't use computers to run two differant operating systems (OS). I set it to dual-boot so it gives me a option to boot WIN or UNIX. Dual-boot will be set up LILO or GRUB when you install Linux/UNIX, simple proccess. If you want to install Linux/UNIX make sure you have a open partition, if not your going to have to reinatll WIN to set yourself one up. If you have another HDD you can simply install it on it. A great website to download Linux/UNIX is http://www.linuxiso.org. It gives you a huge option to choose from, and a few version about each distribution. Some most well know are RedHat, Fedora Core, SuSE, and Mandrake (this is only because they are most graphical, simple-to-use, and graphical installer). Most of these are Linux, but if you wish to go for UNIX you can download FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or one from http://www.sun.com - Microsystems. This is all you have to know to basicly get started. I use VMS Minicomputer (UNIX) because it's a UNIX OS it self and is more flexiable. It also can run any WIN application you command it to, also WIN OS in a window. Well thats about it. Here are two screenshots of my WIN and UNIX desktop. (Keep in mind that UNIX is not the best looking out of all of them... this is because it was designed for differant reasons, such as security and other.)

thats a kick *** idea shellshock. i give you a 8.5/10 on the scale of geekness. if you want a 10 though.. you should install a whole copy of Panther OS on another HDD and set up a boot. dont ask me why... mac OS is DAMN sexy.

anyways.. ok.. james didnt not make the skin.. i believe he was pointing out to the fine text in the windows pop up that called you a bitch in some way... well.. as it always does.

actually the only linix dristo i use is just really the knoppix live OS's like phlak. they all come in handy for fixing computers and blowing them up.

I currently own a iBook, which is a Mac laptop for these newbs out there. I don't use it that often but I have to say that it is the best graphical OS out there today, and mostlikely will be unless Microsoft tries to rip off again. I also have installed Panther OS X on it, and it was a extremely simple proccess. Now, what your asking for is not possiable. You cannot install Panther Mac OS X onto a Windows designed machine. Everyone should know this and if you have tried you should know. But if you call this hard... you should try to install OpenVMS or Gentoo Linux. :) Good luck!

Also the think he added must have been some kind of cheap photoshop edit because you can NOT decrypt any of microsofts files. So enjoy!
