I've been watching CNN lately and all they've been going on about the conflict between lebanon and israel. it basically started with a lebanon-based private army kidnapped some israeli soldiers and now the israeli army is bombarding south lebanon.
what do you guys feel about the conflict?

that's true hell. history has repeated itself quite a bit. but the conflict in the middle east with israel is now cyclical. every decade, there is a war with israel. the 2000's, the 1990's, the 80's, 70's, and so on all the way up to the 40's. who's to blame for it? which side can one now truly say is evil, and which side is truly good? is there even a distinction now?

it a Movement called the Hizbollah which is not related in anyform to the governemnt who kidnapped it. Its sorta like Al Quaida. As a muslim i find it revoliting that they hide between civilians to "protect themselves", however, israel is not better. They kill innocents, and dont want a cease fire to have a discussion and let diplomacy win over war. They proved it by killing 4 UN Soldiers sent to help the lebanese population. They say that it was a mistake, my a** if you permit the term, their airplanes are all sofisticated with targets and all that carpet it wasnt possible. It was just a way to say to Kofi to shut up and that they didnt want a ceasefire. The US also has a major part to play but while Bush is sitting jet skying on the beach he is sending his shitt* secretary Condoliza Rice which does only more damage. She keeps claiming peace, and does nothing. All that are lies. Cuz if Us wanted really peace they could just have it in one sec. They provide all materials to Israel and are always with them. Isreal is the like the baby of Us and Us the father. When a father says something to their son he must obey. Thats something Us doesnt want to do. Each day people die in Avganhistan, Lebanon , and Iraq and they do nothing about it, only if it is to make it even worse. More people are killed in Iraq everyday than in this stupid war. The times are hard and the nations dont want to do a shit to help our countries. Those are times where arab countries must unite. Not let foreign countries steal us from our goods. An example in morocco we just signed some paper to permit spain and portugal to fish in our territories. "permit" that what THEY say... sigh ... Those wars that are all thrhough the world are silly Hizboullah initially financed by Iran and Syrie which give them each annually 100,000,000$ are all just pathetic sorry to all muslims cuz they should try to find a peace to have muslims and jews live in peace. cuz lets say israels falls off and palestine takes back it territory how are THEy going to spread the territories the earth whos gon take what some will claim this is their field others will say this was their grandfather's who lived there before it was occupied? What will happen? Civil war? like Iraq. The most devellopped and educated arab countries are getting destroyed. Iraq had very intelligent scientists and Beirut had very fast recovered frokm the previous war. They had a magnificent beach ... What is all this about? Usa wants to stop arabs from develloping their countries and becoming powerfull. cuz they knowww.... the world is against them and if all the arab countries + some anti americans revolt .... theyre all gon die. If Iran, Pakistan , Korea , Japan , all those countries who are anti american just decided to throw a Nuclear Bomb on USA ... but then it would playing their game by killing innocents which would also lead to a crash in economy which would make revive the Great Depressison of 1929 . Everything is relative. All we can do is hope .......

mantis, i didn't say the lebanese govt did it. i said a private army that is based in lebanon did it. that is what hezbullah is basically. also, hezbullah is now more than an army. it's become a political party which is responsible for the founding of schools and community centers. it is a unique way to get the community on their side for the conflict.
with regards to peackeepers, the UN isn't really doing as much as they did in places like Ethiopia. they gave humanitarian aid to the refugees, but they're not doing it for either side in this conflict. It was founded for the purpose of keeping order in the world, but all they do now is rumble and harrumph like fools and wag their finger. two weeks into the conflict, they've done nothing but that.
it probably comes down to how israel was first formed. if they had consulted with the palestinians then in 1948, nobody would have been kicked off their land, and the israelis and palestinians would have probably co-existed. now with all the bloodshed, it's now exactly like what the british did to Ireland, with the fighting between the catholics and protestants.

Then israel decided to take them back home and so the war began.
It known that hezbolla rules in south lebanon and they are shooting rockets to INNOCENT VICTIMS in south israel.
Then hezbolla guilty and they should be dead as all the terror organizations in our world.
Lebanon's army should help the I.D.F and fight against the hezbolla ,but they didn't did anything.

Anyway,there is a cease fire for the next 48 hours from both sides.
Hope the war will end soon.

i don't think the lebanese govt can do anything, to be honest. the govt itself is on really shaky ground, so any action done by the army wouldn't make a difference.
this isn't really gonna end. someone is gonna bring this up ten years from now. it'll only end when people actually become the bigger person and forget all the animosity.
but what the israeli forces are doing isn't right either. just going in and bombing stuff up makes them no better than hezbullah. for both of them, aiming for utter destruction just binds everything up in a glue where half the people support you and the other half fears and hates you. even though it's a conflict between two nations, it's really got all the characteristics of a civil war.
EDIT: i just found some interesting stuff on CNN about how washington sees this conflict. it's pure conjecture of course, but there are a few points worth putting for discussion:
