Sony PS2 Letter.

I 've been having a problem with my ps2, i did research, only to find that shitty hardware is the problem. (read letter to understand)

"I, yet another of the of thousands of loyal customers to the Sony Playstation 2 am also receiving problems with the "Disc Read Error" with games and DVDs. I have bought a playstation 2 from the start of when they came out. I received many problems with it. It was annoying, and I got rid of it. I have purchased another, only to what I thought would bring fun and joy to my life as the XBOX has, but no. Awhile after I am getting the errors so many are also getting.

For the past 2 hours I have been researching this, and I have found over 100 people that have posted on websites complaining about problems that they experienced also that are the same as mine. They said that they have been told that they must send their PS2 in along with a fee of $100 to $150, from a product that in less than year that we purchased from $200 to $300, so yet we can only pay more money for games and technical problems to be suckered in from crappy hardware in playstation products. I have spent over $1000 in Sony products and believe that atleast after a $100 bucks I spent, you think you have something that would atleast last longer than a year? It's not a Playstation if I can't play it.

I will not pay a charge so you can fix a defective product that you sold me. Although I would like to send this one back though in replace for a new one.

My PS2 does that too. We sent it to some company and they fixed it. I dunno what company. Sell your PS2 on ebay. Sony should give you a refund or a new one.

LoL i had the problem also when I got the redesigned one for xmas and got pissed off at and took the laser pin out and purchased another pin off some imported website and it works fine now. and my total was 40$ counting the part and shipping

i've experienced this problem(actually right now) and know why it happens its the motor in the back of the PS2 that causes this over time if the motor gets cloged up from dust or no use over time it will start reading disk slower and slower until finally it can't read anything at all...have you tried getting another PS2(the skinny one)since its a remade version they may have solved this problem with this newer version..

The only reason the newer one wont have this problem is since it has no fan, now its worse since it can overheat.

actually Xbox has the same problem as my friend has an Xbox and he experiences the same problem....so no xbox is no king..plus i hate the clunky controls..

..and i doubt mthat you have yet to try the new skinny ps2 to see if you experience the same problems..but im not gonna get in another arguement with you cause i doubt you will listen..

I've been reading about the new PS2 also. It's not not much better then the older one. Not as many, but some people still have problems. Plus the fact that only ps2 online gaming sucks compaired to xbox online. So if shouldn't really matter aside from that fact that you go waste 150 more bucks, then in a few months heres the ps3. To late, you already wasted your money.

anyways.. all nextgen console are soppose to be playable THIS year at E3. thats right. PS3, Xbox Next, and Revolution. All three have gotten in their patents and are ready for the big 3.

I have never had any problems with my box.. why? CAUSE IT HAS A FAN, not some gay POS 'motor' in the back.
