First off, I strongly urge you to watch this movie (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7866929448192753501&hl=en) (an hour and 20 minutes, approximately, however at least watch the first 10-or-so minutes if you don't have a ton of time, as that pretty much is the basics of what the video covers, however you are urged to watch the thing it its entirety, as it is quite interesting).
With this 11th of September being the 5th anniversary, there has been even more talk about 9/11, conspiracies, etc, than normal. What are your thoughts on the events that took place in 2001? Were you personally effected? Do you think that the U.S. government had something to do with the events that took place?
As said, watch the first 10 minutes (at least) of that movie and post your thoughts.

I'll do the watching part when I get the time.
Anyhow, my teacher is under the belief Bush told his people to destroy the towers to have an excuse to invade Irak and take their "black gold".
Me? Well, I don't know what the hell happened there, except two planes crashed on the Twin Towers.

thats all you ned to know abotu Buch and his perogatives.
As for the movie, i think it's too soon. I have friends who lost loved ones who are still shaken up by it, and to see it again in a movie, it's too much too soon.
Plus...i heard the movie sucked major ass

That is all you need to know about "Too soon". I always find ED hilarious. (Let alone http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/WTC)
And my geography teacher keeps telling us about her conspiracy theories. Sigh.
Either way, I saw most of the Farenheit 9/11 movie, and you really have to lul at George Bush. Hypocritical, miserable idiot. I wish I could have the attention span to watch the whole thing, but it's tiring.
True this movie seems a bit too soon, and really, what's the point to reinact that day? All it's doing is hurting the families. The only movies that should be made considering 9/11 should be those that help us prepare for what is to come, because we all know, that we will be attacked again.
Bush-bashing ftw...

The point is to show what happened on that day. Why do people answer there on questions in their statements? Some people really don't know what really went down on 9/11, and want to know, so they produce a movie to show what happened. If it's to soon for some then don't watch it, and when it's not to soon for you watch it, do so.

I highly doubt any conspiracy theories.

There are too many things that happened for it all to be coincidence.
America needed a war, and yay, a war 'came to them'
America needed oil, and it just so happens that the countries that apparently attacked them (and that they obviously then had to invade) have lots of oil!
They knew Iraq had weapons because America sold them to Iraq, yet they still didn't find them.
Osama bin Laden sort of just disappeared and they just dropped the subject pretty quickly.
etc etc

Nah..
Everyones just trying to find a conspiracy theory.
If you look closely enough at ANYTHING you can find many coincidences.
They have several theories like they also think the Jews did it "4,000 Jewish employees did not attend work at the WTC on 9/11"
Or "Al-Manar the official television station of Hezbollah, also made related claims that then-prime minister Ariel Sharon was warned to stay away from New York"
"As diverse as these theories and their adherents may be, they share a basic thought pattern: great tragedies must have great reasons."

Yes yes we've all seen jewsdidwtc.com or whatever the URL is.
The 'conspiracy theories' most closely related to the US government tend to make the most sense though, see my above 4 points.

That the major 9/11 conspiracy theories “depend on circumstantial evidence, facts without analysis or documentation, quotes taken out of context and the scattered testimony of traumatized eyewitnesses” and the continued popularity of these theories are due to “the idea that there is a malevolent controlling force orchestrating global events is, in a perverse way, comforting”. It concludes that “conspiracy theories are part of the process by which Americans deal with traumatic public events like Sept. 11. Conspiracy theories form around them like scar tissue. In a curious way, they're an American form of national mourning

I have nothing against the Jewish.
However I believe most other groups had been made fun of enough, so what has happened to the Jews or as a result of the Jews is criticized simply because it can be.

Exactly..just like no one likes George Dubya so they criticize him.
They're just fishing for more ways to hate him.

You are contradicting yourself.
A rigged election is a conspiracy theory.
True, many people don't like him, but the majority rules...

omfg, would somebody PLEASE read abou thr Project for a New American century. This perogative has been instituted since the gulf war! 9/11 may not have been planned, but it certainly opened the door.
Go read about it damnit (or take a poli-sci class with a decent teacher)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_a_new_american_century
for those of you too lazy too read i will explain the Project for a New American Century
It's a group of people who believe that because American 'won' the cold war, we have superiority over all other nations, and have the power to exercise our powers in imperialistic ways.
The first place we would use this newly god-given power was in the middle east.
1. We would hit Iraq, it is the weakest of the oil-rich countries. Plus it has a tryannical dictator and so we can be justified.
2. Sryia and Iran would come next, logically because of their locations they would be the easiest to aim at first.
Isn't it weird that George Bush at the g8 summit for no particular reason and with no evidence started saying Iran and Sryia was suppliying weapons to Iraqi insurgents? Hmmm...coincidence?
Maybe you wouldn't think so if you new WHO was a member of the Project for the New American Century. The wikipedia article details them, you may recognize a lot of them.
hmmmm....
NOT TO MENTION
the original website has been up since the early 90s, since about right after George H. W. Bush's administration. How...coincidental eh?
NOT TO MENTION
that immediately after 9/11 our government went into Iraq (why??? WHY????) and Afghanistan...and we're still in Iraq...even though there aren't any weapons of mass destruction...and we've created a terrible mess that would become a humanitarian crisis if we left because the warring tribes in iraq which Saddam kept so rightly separated were forced together bY STUPID US...and now they want to kill each other...and we haven't found Osama Bin Laden...and we're totally ignoring Korea's flexing of their nuclear muscles.
yup...i can foresee our entire nation being anihilated within the next decade...we're already hated the world over.
ALSO! FOR THE RECORD!!!!
in the first Gore v Bush election, gore won the popular vote but Bush won the race in the electoral college, which is not based off of the popular vote at all (though it USUALLY sides with it). Just FYI.
