Well, after reading about Rockstar's new game and the controversy surrounding its release, I thought I would give it a try.

In terms of gameplay it was certainly entertaining, with all the pranks and hijinks that I always dreamt of enacting in my schoolyard days. The look and feel is similar to GTA, which is understandable due to the shared company. The entire experience was enjoyable, even the optional missions such as lawnmowing and racing bikes and go-karts. However, I can see where the controversy comes in.

There are certain aspects of the game that surprised me, such as the option of fighting with weapons like lengths of wood and pipe. Also, the availabilty of weapons like firecracker launchers and "spud" (potato) cannons made me raise my eyebrows a bit. I'm not saying that this is a bad influence or anything; I've always been a firm believer in parental guidance and observation with videogames. I just think it's a bit of a stretch to incorporate these kind of things into this particular videogame and still maintain the believability of the scenarios.

Stepping away from that point, I think what I appreciated most about this game was the jabs at some of the societal issues we have in our world today. Options such as bribing a student to help you beat up your next target, story sequences involving sexual harassment and alcohol (and that's not just the students), and corruption with law enforcement all make an appearance. This, plus the inclusion of stereotypes and cliques round out an intriguing look at some of the biggest problems with our social and moral values.

I wouldn't recommend shelling out the forty bucks unless you are truly interested in the game, though. I managed to beat the main storyline in about ten hours of gameplay, and I'm at ninety-percent completion after only fifteen hours.

Overall, I give it a 6/10

Seemed like a fun game, I heard about people wanting to sue them because it was similar to recent school shootings.

Stupid parents.

Where can I find this game, again?

It's times like these that make you wonder.
How many Technology vs. Human movies did our parents watch back then?

Why don't people lay off the Terminator crap?

How does a potato launcher in any way resemble a rifle?

That no regular teenager would actually barge into his school Gunz-A-Blazin' and start shooting it up unless he's an attention whore and why they don't happen to see that.

Where can I find this game, again?

I would guess you could at your local vidgame retailer. I bought my copy at Wal-Mart, of all places.

I hate Wal-Mart, all the video game demos are usually screwed over because of the little kids who come and try to play without knowing what they're doing.

Indeed. The guitar hero demos are especially frustrating, since there are only ten songs available. What's worse is they have to break the whammy bars so they dont move back. I don't know why, but I asked a clerk and they said that they got the guitars like that.

Anyway that's a quick digression from the main topic. Any other thoughts on Bully?

Edit: You can post my review on the main site if you'd like, admins. :-D

hmmm 15hrs to complete that much of the game... rather easy?
Then it dont really kinda deserve much of a high rating
but then rather trust a person who expereinced playing the game than rather looking at a review from a internet site. I find those not reliable to a certain extent

Type of game like that should take abit longer due to some missions should be hilariously hard or something... i always found that in GTA always 1-3 missions that really annoy you.
