Avarice's First Impression:
The game itself seemed... Well, very difficult, even on the easy setting, this game is not for the regular fps addict. The third person aspect isn't what throws you off in the beginning, it's the fact that aiming, even if you do it, is almost useless, because, most of the guns have a lag factor as they shoot, where the bullets sort of trail off to the side as you fire.
Then there's the cover, ahh... It was fun, it was a good thing they made taking cover more realistic, the ability to shoot from your cover while being able to not expose yourself at all makes it a worthwhile addition. The cover system is hard to get used to or use at all at times, I often found myself slamming up against a wall instead of running away by accident. Overall, it makes you feel like you're somewhere in-between Solid Snake and Master Chief.
The weapons, are pretty much down to the basics, besides the chainsaw attached to your machine gun, and the Hammer of Dawn. The Hammer of Dawn is basically a gun that shoots a pinpoint laser at a target, this signals some huge laser up in space to shoot at the desired target, making for an instant death. The only drawback to the weapon is that you can't use it if you're inside a building, but that balances it out enough. The grenades can be shot at opponents, and like plasma grenades from Halo, will stick, not bad, grenades are actually useful in this game.
(Warning playing this game by charging in like a bad-ass won't get you too far, gotta take cover and be smart)
Overall, I'd give this game a 8.5/10 only because the controls are a little hard to master.
(your thoughts ftw?)
Sorry, if there's already been a GoW topic, but hell it's an awesome game.
p.s. LOL MY POSTCOUNT FTW
