hmm tough to argue , soccer is actually played with the feet and has no use of the hands with exception of the goalie of course, i believe was made long before the american football game.

popularity wise its about the same more in the european countries but has caught on very well here.

now for american football , the only time its even touched by a foot is when punting or after touch down so hmm dunno im on soccer this one

Soccer should be called Football. Americans changing the name of the authenic Football to Soccer is one of the reasons the country is ridiculed and everyone hates it so much. Calling Football (Soccer), Football would lead to better diplomacy among foreign nations, bringing the everyone closer to world peace (if your a hippie).

American Football should be called something like Run-and/or-Throwball. Thusly making it politcally correct... bringing everyone even CLOSER to world peace (once again if you a hippie).

Football also has the majority popularity worldwide - you see Football has a WORLD CUP - what has American Football have.... only a Nationwide type cup

American Football is ok, but Football (or Soccer) is a world-wide sport. You won't see a poor village hiking the ball and then a Quarterback throwing it to a running attempting to make a touchdown. Instead, you'd see a group kids using a make-shift ball, trying to score on their opponents make-shift goal post.

Most of the world doesn't even give a hoot about American Football but they are crazy about Football/Soccer (similar concept with baseball vs cricket <---- I dislike both). Just compare the craze over the World Cup opposed to the Superbowl.

Soccer is a simple sport that loses all of its flare when played professionally. I honestly would rather watch football than see some people with... unique names pass the ball back and forth for what seems like several hours until:
A) A headbutt occurs, followed by news stories about this instance for months.
B) Someone falls and begins to act out a scene similar to that of Family Guy where Peter is on the ground, rocking back and forth, wincing in presumed pain.
C) Someone makes an attempt to score, but before they get even close, pass it back.

A bunch of poor schoolchildren using their jackets as goal posts with the distance from one team's posts to another's being about 10 feet.. those games are interesting to watch.

On the contrary, it is far more interesting to watch professional football than to watch schoolchildren playing it. It depends what you want the sport for.

that is why everyone of my teachers called american football "American Rugby". if you call it football, then think about this: for the majority of the game, the pigskin is in the player's hands. this would imply that they have feet where their hands should be. because the only primate like that are apes and monkeys (not homo sapians) then that would mean that american football players are really apes and not humans
